Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University

One of Europe's and Russia's largest medical universities. The only medical educational institution in Russia to hold the rank of national research university. The University has been around since 1906. The Russian State Medical University was renamed to "Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University" in 2011 by decree of the Ministry of Healthcare and Social Development of the Russian Federation. At RNRMU, there are 135 academic departments. Over 9,000 students attend the university in total, and 1,205 teachers are employed. Each year, more than 200 students enroll in the university's internship program. At the clinical internship, more than 700 residents are trained in 36 specialties across 72 departments. In the clinical residency (full-time and part-time basis), 550 people are trained in 90 departments across 36 specialties (medical, biological and chemical).
